RATCH Group Public Company Limited (RATCH) announced that Mr. Nitus Voraphonpiput was appointed to be the Company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) which is effective from May 1, 2024 according to the Board of Directors’ resolution No. 6/2024 on 23 April 2024.
Mr. Nitus is well-known for his in-depth knowledge, extensive experience, and expertise in all aspects of power business’s value chain covering both fossil fuel and renewable energy generation, as well as research and development in technology and innovation driving energy transition, carbon neutrality and net zero emission goals. As RATCH’s leader, he will capitalize on talent and knowhow to drive the company’s business strategy for creating shared values and moving forward to achieve carbon neutrality goal by 2050.
Prior to assuming RATCH’s CEO, Mr. Nitus took a key role in the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) including Deputy Governor – Fuel, Assistant Governor – Corporate Strategy, Director - Generation and Transmission System Planning Division, Director - Power Purchase Agreement Division and assigned to be Chairman of Technical Task Force No.3 Commercial Arrangement of the Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore Power Integration Project (LTMS-PIP).
Mr. Nitus, 53-year-old, graduated Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering (Electrical Engineering), a master degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering) and a bachelor degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering) from King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok. Moreover, he attended many leadership and management courses such as Director Certification Program (DCP 333/2023) and Successful Formulation and Execution of Strategy (In-house SFE EGAT 1/2020) of Thai Institute of Directors Association, Leadership Succession Program (Class 11) of the Institute of Research and Development for Public Enterprises, and Security Psychology Program (Class 119) of Institute of Security Psychology, National Defence Studies Institute.
Recently, Mr. Nitus was awarded as the King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok’s “Outstanding Alumnus 2023” in the category of government /political organization management.
